O*NET

The Occupational Information Network (O*NET), maintained by the U.S. Department of Labor, is a comprehensive framework for classifying occupations and the skills, knowledge, and abilities associated with them. BeTalent uses O*NET as the primary reference for two purposes:

  • Professional category classification: job profiles extracted from CVs are mapped to an O*NET-derived taxonomy of 66 professional categories.
  • Skill classification: O*NET serves as the primary dataset for the skill taxonomy, with a predominant focus on the IT domain. The taxonomy is further enriched by importing skills from ESCO and integrating additional tools and datasets.

ESCO

The European Skills, Competences, Qualifications and Occupations (ESCO) classification provides a multilingual taxonomy of occupations, skills, and qualifications. BeTalent uses ESCO primarily to classify and normalize job profiles extracted from CVs. For skills, ESCO serves as a reference specifically for soft skills: soft skills classified within this standard are imported into our taxonomy alongside other sources.

ISCED

WAG

The Weighted Average Grade (WAG) method computes a candidate's overall academic performance by weighting individual course grades. We employ WAG to compare academic records uniformly in our CV Screening API.

CEFR

The Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) describes language proficiency on a standardized A1–C2 scale. We use CEFR to tag and filter candidates by language skills in our CV Screening API.
